Dental Implants in Grimsby and Hagersville

What Are Dental Implants?

Having been available for about 40 years, denture implants have changed. Today, Dental Implants are titanium screws that are fixed solidly in the jaw by means of a surgical procedure. Dental Implants are used to provide support for a single missing tooth or to someone wearing dentures and are missing some or all of their natural teeth.

How Will Dental Implants Benefit You?

The benefits of dental implants are vast, especially if you have suffered from non-functional teeth for some time. Patients often tell us that dental implants help them eat foods that they previously avoided, have confidence when they eat and subsequently enjoy a stronger self-image since their dentures are secure and do not lift or move out of place.

Knowing Which Dentures To Choose

Dental implants come in several types, styles and are made from titanium. Of the 60 dental manufactures around the world, Zanon Dental only uses Dental Implants with a proven track record. To help you wade through the sea of dental implant information, remember these four basic categories:

  • Endosteal (fixed into the bone)
  • Subperiosteal (fixed on top of the bone but under the gums)
  • Intra mucosal (embedded into the gum tissue)
  • Augmentation (where natural or artificial bone is added to the jaw)

What You Should Know About Dental Implants

By using modern techniques and appropriate surgical and denture protocol, implant success rates are in the excess of 90%. With proper hygiene habits and maintenance implants are designed to last a lifetime.

Apart from the expected discomfort caused by the surgical procedure itself, any additional problems occur within the first year of implant due to bone healing. Even if the patient is experiencing no discomfort, Zanon always carries out office or at home follow-up appointments.

Dental Implant Post-Surgery Facts

  • Single stage implant surgery takes approximately 2 to 3 hours
  • Patients resume normal activity within 2 days after surgery
  • Full functional use of mouth returns within 4-5 days after surgery
  • Strong Oral Hygiene increases the longevity of dental implants

Does Dental Insurance Or OHIP Cover Dental Implant Treatments?

Unfortunately, OHIP and regular Dental Insurance does not cover the surgery and implant placement. However, if you have dental insurance for procedures such as the oral examinations, radiographs (x-rays), or dentures, Zanon Denture / Dental Implants Center will complete the necessary dental form for you to be submitted to your insurance carrier for partial or full coverage.

Always check with your coverage plan provider for full details.

To help circumvent the cost of Dental Implants, Zanon Dental is happy to take payments made by installments with no interest charged.
